Resolved Question: Does Yahoo! Real Estate only except Western Union payment?

Hi, I've been looking for a flat and now I finally got an offer. The landlord uses Yahoo! Real Estate for transferring key and contract. So far it looked fine, but before I receive the keys, I have to deposit the first rent +1 month safety. Now I received the payment order, which asks me to transfer my money to a Yahoo! Real Estate agent by Western Union. I'm not familiar with Western Union, so I googled it, and one of the first entries you find is like "if you don't know the person very good, it's probably a scam'. But I can't find any clue of a scam related to yahoo real estate and western union on further search. Also the sender domain doesn't indicate any yahoo relation (consultant.com). And because we talk about around $1000, I want to be sure, that I'm not tricked. I just have these suspicious things, but no clue on the internet (pro or contra). Can anyone help me? Thanks for the answers. I'm really glad, that I still can trust my feelings. I noticed now: Western Union = Scam. Just fyi: I didn't expect a scam this way. I replied to an announce on a regular free website (like craigslist, but more local; It's standard around here and I found alot of real flats before, which I even visited). So he had my email address even before he wrote me. Follow up scamers should be caught by my spam filter (hopefully). I was never so stupid to answer to any of the 'regular' spam mails. Thanks, for the heads up, but I'm not so 'out of my mind'. The scamer used the name/address celinne.karlsson@hotmail.com with the fake real estate address yrealestatecenter@consultant.com. Communicating with the 'landlord' was not so suspicious, only the 'company' gave me the hint. And if you don't know anything about Yahoo! Resolved Question: My siblings think I get special treatment....?

So my siblings are always bashing me! let me give you some background info. I'm currently 19 and they are 21 and 26 (two sisters) and they are constantly saying i have special treatment because i'm the baby of the family, which is totally not true! My siblings moved out at an early age about in their teens and early twenties my parents and i told my sisters that they are making a huge mistake but they wanted to move in with their boyfriends. So my two siblings moved out i gave one of my siblings (the 21 year old) my bedroom set and my parents bought me a whole new set, my sisters and uncle were furious about that! and told my parents they shouldn't have bought it for me HOLD UP i told them.... ummm you want me to snooze on the floor!!??? ummm no! also my parents gave the same sibling i gave my bedroom set to, our furniture, table and plates; so we were table and couchless for about two months my parents sacrificed their comfort! any who i live with my parents rent free, they pay for everything and i help out always! My parents bought my oldest sibling a car but she didn't like it so she sold it and my uncle gave her his car. My dad is giving me his car in a couple of weeks, because he is buying a new car. I'm giving my parents money to help them kick start the process of a new car. Both of my siblings say i have it toooooo easy! and that i take everything for granted! oh and also they say i have my parents wrapped around my fingers and i "run" the household. sometimes i receive sleepy of hearing this. So i'm like well if you would've listed to me, mommy, and daddy you should've stayed at home instead of running off with your boyfriends and struggling, its not my fault your not glad with the choice you made. Overall my siblings think i receive treated differently from them. They are the ones who wanted to live in their possess domains and i knew from the beginning it wasn't going to be easy. My parents gave them oppurtunies to make sure this is what they wanted! So i feel they shouldn't feel the way they do towards me because i receive to do the things i do, buy the things i want to buy, and i am 100% grateful for parents <3 they did so much for my siblings and I. Even when my sisters were down they paid their phone bills sometimes and even gave them money to help with rent! so why are they being so.... hasty towards me??? So am i wrong? I just want an outsiders opinion.

Voting Question: What should I do about this situation?

Hi, I am a needy college student and am currently looking for a job. I put in like 18 applications, so I'm bound to receive one, so I'm obviously trying to receive money. Anyway, before I started school, I asked my boyfriend if I could borrow some money to buy books and I'll pay his back as soon as I receive my job. He said no, he can't. His reasons are that he has bills to pay, but yet he goes out and eats everyday, buys domain names everyday, and can just randomly go out and buy something expensive. For instance his computer messed up, so he went out and bought a $300 difficult steer for it. If he doesn't have money, how did he have the money for that? I'm a little upset because I know he can help and he isn't. He makes $650 free money from the government every month for SSI, which doesn't seem like a lot, but he just graduated from college and is still living with his parents so he doesn't have to pay rent or electricity or anything. I planned on paying him back. I told him how I am failing 3 of my classes because I don't have the books and I'm really below a lot of stress right now, and he still won't help me out. We've been together for 1 1/2 years. Anyway, I told another guy my story at school, and he had sympathy for me. He said that he'll help me pay for my books, and said that I didn't have to pay him back. I am going to though because I feel it's only right. He's a college student too and makes less money than my boyfriend, about $500 a month, working, which my boyfriend gets his money free. I don't understand why someone I just met is willing to help me out and not my boyfriend of 1 1/2 years who I know can help me out if he really wanted to. Anyway, I'm nice of debating about accepting the help for books because I know it might make my boyfriend a little jealous and upset that I'm accepting help from another guy. Should I feel the way I feel about him not helping, or am I expecting too much?

Resolved Question: How about the Budget apartments of Sydney ?

My best advice, would be to go back to www.realestate.com.au (or the domain website) and find a property/properties you like. Instead of emailing the real estate agent with a question about the property, mail them and tell them your situation. Tell them how you're willing to pay rent in advance, and you can't view the place beforehand etc etc. Ask them whether they can help you in any way. Also, you can search for holiday rentals on those sites. If you want something short term, so you can go and look at places to rent once you receive there, this might be a good thing to look into (although these are usually expensive) The last thing i can suggest is to rent out a motel room if you aren't don't have a lot with you. These are actually pretty cheap, especially if you request a discount for a long term stay. If you need help with the last one, email me and i'll help the best i can! I've lived in Sydney almost my whole life (except the last year, and i only recently had to do this myself while visiting home), so i could suggest some good places, depending on what part of Sydney you're thinking of staying in :) Good luck! Resolved Question: Rights to a domain name?

My employer took out a domain name in 2003 and paid a 1-year license fee for it to "Company A" Due to the economy and the state of the business in 2005, he did not renew. Not he wants to renew but the company that now owns it ("Company B") wants $600 to sell - not rent it- to him. How does that sort of stuff work? These are every good answers but I still wonder who actually "owns" these domains originally? My employer came up with the name and registered it thru a company called Network Solutions and they are now apparently out of the picture. Did they "possess" it and sell it when the license expired? Who was the license fee getting paid to ultimately?

Tenant wont pay his summer sublease rent? so i signed a lease for a home next to my school starting June first, but since i wont be there until the beginning of the academic year in September , i subleased it for somebody,, he did not sign any contract with me but he did consent via email to the amount of rent hes supposed to pay etc..however after paying for the first month he asked me to pay for the last 2 months at the end of the summer but now hes ignoring my emails and phone calls and has moved out without paying..my question is there anything i can do legally to recover my money? would his consent via email hold in tiny claims court? 4 hours ago - 4 days left to answer. Resolved Question: Set up a Publishing company with a writer who now is thinking of publishing the book elsewhere!!!?

Hi I set up a publishing company with an writer few months ago. The writer was at that stage finalazing completing the 1st book which my job was essentially to market. In the early days of this company formation i.e Feb 2011, We registered a domain to set up a website that will promote the book. Also more importantly we bought the set of ISBN's and allocated 3 to this book ( 1 for paperback, 1 for hardback and 1 for ebook version). This was every paid out of my possess personal funds which I paid into company. The writer has not contributed any of his personal funds towards the book since he is basically very needy.I even let him stay in my flat when he was in London Jan/Feb 2011 without charging any rent to him or any costs. Having now completed writing the book,I now have the job of marketing it which I have set about doing for last month and should have it released to public tardy September. Now lately both me and the writer has had few differences and basically are on collision course. I fear he may tug out of this venture and go elsewhere to publish this book. Because of enormous time and money that I have spent on this book i.e from putting him up in my flat without charging any money (I could have earned potentially £600 by renting that room instead) to buying ISBN numbers and hiring copywriter to proofread and write copy for webpage, I am obviously very keen and desperate for book to arrive out and make us some money that will repay back my investment. Don't forget the time I have committed to this project since January 2011 by learning book promotion strategies has meant since that time I have not been able to give time to anything else like my kids or wife or other projects that I could have started. So my big question is that since the company has the book ISBN set up and logged, even if this writer guy breaks his partnership with me and go elsewhere to publish this book, will I be still able to go ahead publish the book considering the book's ISBN is registered below my company name and the time and money investment I mentioned over. And if he breaks of with me and wish to publish his book elsewhere, can he refrain me from marketing and selling the book myself? Please note that there is no written agreement between me and writer along the lines that he assigns the selling/marketing rights to the company we set up. as tenants who have every experienced paranormal activity and have not lasted long living there. every claimed to have been scared to death by the entity/s in that domain, and that is the reason why they quickly moved out. Hi, I am a needy college student and am currently looking for a job. I put in like 18 applications, so I'm bound to receive one, so I'm obviously trying to receive money. Anyway, before I started school, I asked my boyfriend if I could borrow some money to buy books and I'll pay his back as soon as I receive my job. He said no, he can't. His reasons are that he has bills to pay, but yet he goes out and eats everyday, buys domain names everyday, and can just randomly go out and buy something expensive. For instance his computer messed up, so he went out and bought a $300 difficult steer for it. If he doesn't have money, how did he have the money for that? I'm a little upset because I know he can help and he isn't. He makes $650 free money from the government every month for SSI, which doesn't seem like a lot, but he just graduated from college and is still living with his parents so he doesn't have to pay rent or electricity or anything. I planned on paying him back. I told him how I am failing 3 of my classes because I don't have the books and I'm really below a lot of stress right now, and he still won't help me out. We've been together for 1 1/2 years. Anyway, I told another guy my story at school, and he had sympathy for me. He said that he'll help me pay for my books, and said that I didn't have to pay him back. I am going to though because I feel it's only right. He's a college student too and makes less money than my boyfriend, about $500 a month, working, which my boyfriend gets his money free. I don't understand why someone I just met is willing to help me out and not my boyfriend of 1 1/2 years who I know can help me out if he really wanted to. Anyway, I'm nice of debating about accepting the help for books because I know it might make my boyfriend a little jealous and upset that I'm accepting help from another guy. Should I feel the way I feel about him not helping, or am I expecting too much?

Resolved Question: Can I withhold rent for this ? Please help!!!?

The home that I am renting is imminet domain right now with the county. They are widening the road so we have to be out in a month. It's not TOO much of a problem because they will give us money for the moving expenses and we hate this home anyway. It's not a lot of money, though, and this will be pretty difficult for us to do since my mom, boyfriend, and I are way low income. The landlord has pretty much screwed us from the beginning. Nothing in the home works, it's falling apart, and is definitely not fit for anyone to live in! He refused to put money in it at every, though, because it is going to be demolished and also wouldn't give us our deposit back to move because he said it would cost him money to find renters before the home was demolished. So we were stuck. Now that it is happening this month, I don't want to pay rent. I asked if we will receive our deposit back by the end of this month (when it will be demolished) and he said "I will have my lawyer and property management company walk through the home to look what you are due." It's getting demolished and he knows how horrible it is! He refused to receive anything for it including an oven, broken heater, and water heater! We had to buy the water heater otu of our possess money. Anyway, I was going to withold rent this month so we have money for a next deposit since I'm pretty sure he is keeping our deposit. Rent is 500 less than our deposit was. Is this right to do? Any thoughts, opinions, laws I should know about? Please help! Thanks in advance! Forgot to mention I don't intend on suing him. He lives far away and I don't have the time or money to serve him and take him to court.

Resolved Question: Is This Normal In the Renting World?

I am considering renting a condo through a private owner (but it's managed by a property management company). It's a GREAT price and I actually went to go view it and it was just like the pictures I saw online...but they want 1st month's rent upon receipt of the application. I've NEVER had to give a deposit equivalent to a full month's rent BEFORE actually being approved, and before my application was even reviewed (where I live now, I remember I had to give a $100 deposit to reserve the home until the move in date, but I believe that was AFTER I'd been approved...but even if it wasn't, I think it was refundable and it wound up going toward my deposit once I decided to move in). Has anyone EVER heard of anyone asking for the application, credit/background check fee and a FULL MONTH'S worth of rent prior to even being approved for the rental space? If I write a check out, they could just cash it whether or not I got approved b/c I already wrote it out to them...I don't know, it just doesn't set well with me. Also, I checked out the property management company, and their email address is at aol.com--that's not TOO bad, as I HAVE seen some businesses who use free email accounts, and just because a company has it's possess email domain (is that what it's called?) doesn't mean it's legit, either...anyone can make a website these days. When I looked up the address of the company it looks as if it is located in an apartment in a complex...that just seems odd to me. I know it could be a tiny start up or something (the community I'm at now uses one of the townhomes as its office space, and they are legit)--I probably really wouldn't even been so paranoid IF they weren't asking for a full month's rent up front w/ the application. But, for that i need multiple IP's, Here the highest package internet with multiple ip's, has an uplink of 10mbit, and that's not enough. So.. i heard something of virtualhost, and Reverse Proxy's.. and i thought if it maybe was possible to point: Domain to VPS, so i receive: Domain1 --> VPS1 Domain2 --> VPS2 Domain3 --> VPS3 Is this possible? or do i need to take that package with multiple ip's or just forget it.. Resolved Question: Which video games have really surprised you?

In this current generation of console gaming, I'd like to know which games have really surprised you... I'd like to hear examples of both extremes... the good and the bad... My Example - The Good: I saw a screenshot for Binary Domain (the robot face below the human flesh) and fell in adore with it... but when it was released it was critically panned everywhere, I was reluctant to even rent it... I'm really glad I did... really enjoyed it... especially the team dynamics and that Cain robot character... The Bad: 'Rage'. Best looking game out, game play was fun and the weapons were really chilly... but that was where it ended... The campaign must be the shortest in history, by the time you receive good weapons you've no time to use them and lastly... the story itself was very thin (it started out like an epic story but just ended up being rushed and went nowhere)... Resolved Question: Taxes for small time yoga teachers: better on the books or off?

Thanks in advance for your help, I am confused about this! Here is a run down of my situation. I don't have a business license and haven't reported my earnings yet but I want to do the right thing as well as the profitable thing if possible. I have two teaching gigs that I am not sure about; one studio gives me a check (with no money taken out for taxes, etc.) at the end of the month based on how many people show up for my class. For that class I earn about $100-175/month. The other place I tutor is different; there I rent the space for $80/month and then the students pay me directly, so I receive lots of tiny checks of $10 here and there or just cash. I deposit the checks into my personal banking account. The latter class just started and so far, I am barely breaking even or even losing money every week. The other thing I wonder about are my expenses; gas to and from the classes, the printing of flyer's ($50), website domain name ($50), liability insurance (about $200/year), and the purchase of some props ($100). I file jointly with my husband who is the main earner and I also have a few proper jobs where I am an actual employee. We have two kids. Questions: Do I need to receive a business license in order to file this stuff as an independent contractor? Is it worth doing so? Do I just start from the day I receive the license or start from the beginning of the year? Will the checks coming into my account off the books affect our ability to receive a mortgage loan should we want to do that next year? Finally, I would like to talk to someone and receive sound advice but as I am tiny potatoes, I am not sure what nice of tax person would handle cases like mine. Thanks again.

Voting Question: How can I get my domain name back ?

On October 26 I had transfered my domain name from my registrar to a hosting service company by purchasing one month unlimited plan for my trial experience. Now I want to relaunch my website with another hosting company. But I can't excess my control panel to change the DNS. I'm trying to excess it from * mydomainname.com/cpanel * I won't pay another one month rent to just excess my control panel and change the DNS because technically that will power up my domain name due to my registrar's link up with this hosting company's nameserver I guess. :/ I know my hosting service company's account is suspended because of non payment but look at it this way.. look, they gave me their hosting service for one month. I had linked up my domain name with their nameserver and paid them for their hosting service. Time passed by and deal got over in one months. Now I just want my domain name back from them because that's entirely mine. Please tell me am I right or wrong and how can I excess my control panel Waiting for your answer guys ! :)

Resolved Question: I wanted to hit her so bad.... but I didn't. I still kind of wish I did, though?

Okay, so, my "ex" roommate is a spiteful cow who waited until the last moment to receive every her worthless crap out of my home when she had well over two weeks, only two weeks by her possess choice because she couldn't stand the fact that our landlord wanted to switch the lease to my name because she was always tardy on her share of the rent. Never once did I say,"This is my home, receive your shet out." But my hubby-to-be has always hated her and they got in some dumb argument and he used the term "this is my home" which quite frankly just pissed me off because obviously it's every body's home while we every live there. So she came in at 9 pm last night, and had the nerve to receive in my face with a shitty little attititude about where's this, where's that, stuff that is completely cheap and has no value whatsoever. Then she goes, "I told you not to touch my phucking stuff" which she has said before in these last two weeks because she's been so lazy that I'm the one who ended up packing half the stuff in the public domain, which includes the bathroom, kitchen and living room. So I said, "Then receive it out of here, Sarah, and receive out of my face with your stupid drama". I was so mad when she left that I had my boyfriend and new roommate move every the remaining stuff out into the shed, called the landlord and told him she's never allowed in this home again. The thing is, I'm 20 weeks pregnant and I WAS SO MAD. I have done so much work on myself and my temper, that I'm partially proud of myself for the way I handled it. But part of me feels stupid because I feel like I let her receive away with it... even though I did stand my ground. Would you have hit her? I just wanted to chase her out of my home and smash her brains in. Should I be concerned that I was that mad, being pregnant and every? I am on anti-depressants that I haven't been very good about taking because I'm concerned about the baby...I'm having a really difficult time getting over this.

I have NEVER taken revenge on an ex. I pretty much leave it every up to karma. I've been burned quite a bit and am sick of it. Not sure if this is considered revenge, or just looking out for my best interests, but 'll try to make this short. Jan 2010 - helped boyfriend start business. I created it as a sole proprietorship. Put in about 350 hours and $500 of my possess money. Got him featured in a national publication, built website, business plan, I do the taxes, marketing, etc. June 2010 - he moved in. He paid rent, but I loaned him $500 to buy wheels and $200 to buy his kid a wii. Jan 2011 - he moved out. Since then, he has completely close me out of the activities of the business (I'm missing out on some great things) and is does not seem willing to pay me back. Over the past 24 hours, he has said some really mean things. I am really upset about being close out of something I worked really difficult for and believe in. Today, I suspended his phone (still on my plan because I do not want to be stuck with the contract) and changed the password to the business email. I am thinking about taking him to tiny claims court, taking down the website (I possess the domain), closing the biz PO Box, etc. Am I going about this the wrong way? I keep hoping there may be some benefit to being nice to him and "helping", but there may not be.
